The United States must transition from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy now. Our dependence on foreign oil, the negative health effects due to fossil fuel emissions, and the degradation to air and water quality are no longer tolerable. The federal government must lead the way in funding research and development of alternative fuel sources and implementing wide-ranging policy solutions to move our country toward energy independence.
